I am an advocate of limited government and individual rights, specifically of laissez-faire capitalism properly understood.
It would be a government that is used neither by the wealthy to dominate the poor and middle class, nor by the poor to gain advantage over the wealthy. The purpose of government should be to protect the freedom to act of all individuals, regardless of income level, ethnic background, religion, or any other difference.
I identify myself as an independent voter, although I do gravitate towards candidates who are fiscal conservatives and social liberals (i.e. exhibit libertarian tendencies). Unfortunately, those positions tend to reside in two different political parties nowadays, so voting is always difficult!
